We’re passionate about helping charities make a real difference in their communities. We know that navigating funding can sometimes feel complicated, which is why we’ve made some changes – to simplify how we work and make it easier for organisations to access the support they need.
We’ve listened and learned from the charities we work with. That’s why we’ve simplified our approach – bringing everything under one roof to make it clearer and easier. Our hope is that this frees organisations to focus on what really matters: making a difference in their communities
Q: Tell us about the Aviva Foundation and the changes you’re making
We’re bringing everything under one roof – combining the Foundation’s previous grant-making and the Aviva Community Fund into a single, simpler approach. We hope this means that charities can engage with us more easily and know exactly where to go for support.
We’ve refreshed the names of our programmes to better reflect what they do:
-
Financial Futures Fund – for larger organisations (income over £1m), offering long-term funding. This fund is about giving charities the space and stability to explore bold, transformative ways to help people build financial resilience.
-
Communities Fund – for smaller charities (income under £1m), providing shorter-term funding to tackle financial and climate challenges in local communities. It’s about supporting organisations to respond to what matters most, right now.
Q: Why are you making changes?
We listened to our partners and heard that our previous approach could feel complicated. So, we’ve simplified things – bringing everything together so it’s clearer and easier for charities to engage with us.
We want our programmes to work hand-in-hand, sharing insights and learning so we can make a bigger difference, together. We know how tough things are for many organisations right now, and we want to remove unnecessary complexity so they can focus on what matters most: helping the people and communities they serve.
Finally, we’ve fine-tuned our funding programmes so each one feels right for the organisations it’s designed for. Clearer conversations, simpler processes, and funding opportunities that fits the needs of the variety of charities and community groups we support.
Q: What are you hoping to achieve?
We’re excited about what these changes mean. By combining our programmes, we can increase the amount we give and support more organisations to make a bigger impact.
For the Financial Futures Fund, that means providing long-term, stable funding so charities can innovate – developing solutions that help people build financial resilience and creating approaches that others can learn from.
For the Communities Fund, it’s about meeting organisations where they are – helping them tackle immediate challenges and serve their communities in the ways that matter most.
