Carers UK  the leading national charity for unpaid carers, supporting and advocating for carers across the UK. Caring responsibilities can have a significant impact on people’s finances, particularly when people reduce their working hours or leave employment, affecting both their current income and longer-term financial security.

With support from the Financial Futures Fund, Carers UK will develop Informed Decisions, helping people access financial education earlier in their caring journeys. At its heart will be a new Financial Resilience Hub providing trusted information and practical resources on pensions, employment rights, benefits and financial planning. Alongside this, learning sessions, health settings and employer networks will help reach carers before financial pressures escalate.

The programme aims to attract 50,000 visits to the Financial Resilience Hub, with 10,000 people accessing its financial guidance, tools and resources, and more than 1,500 people taking part in learning sessions and employer events. Through Carers UK’s Employers for Carers network, the project will also extend its reach into workplaces, helping more carers make informed decisions that protect their income, employment and longer-term financial security.
