NASP is a national charity that champions social prescribing. They support and connect people, communities and organisations so that more people across the UK can enjoy better health and wellbeing.
With support from the Aviva Foundation, NASP is embedding financial wellbeing into social prescribing for people living with multiple long‑term conditions. Building on successful pilots, the programme will train Social Prescribing Link Workers to identify and address financial challenges as part of holistic care.
The initiative will test enhanced financial wellbeing support at two Primary Care Network sites and create a scalable training model for 1,000 Link Workers. By equipping the workforce to offer timely, practical financial guidance, the project aims to improve income security, build confidence, and reduce health inequalities driven by financial stress.
This evidence-led approach will inform national practice and strengthen the role of social prescribing in tackling the social determinants of health.
